The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens takes full advantage of the larger mount found in the Nikon Z-Series. Along with the painterly Plena producing edge-to-edge clarity and the 11 rounded diaphragm blades produce spectacular bokeh results across the entire frame in portraiture, still life photography, and cinematic video.
Innovative, Z-Series Optical Design
The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens is designed around the larger diameter of the Z-Mount, allowing the maximum amount of light to enter through the lens with an 82mm filter thread. Also, the larger rear element enables a leap in peripheral illumination offering extreme brightness to the edges of the frame. Largely reducing vignetting, the clear path of light through the lens creates minimal refractions that produce exquisite and regular round bokeh. Notable image clarity is benefited by the optical design, same as with the bokeh effects, the lens also achieves good results across the entire frame. A short-wavelength refractive front element, an aspherical element, and four extra-low dispersion elements assist in reducing colour bleeding, fringing, and flare. In strong lighting and backlit conditions, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coats work against both axial and lateral chromatic aberrations to prevent ghosting, reflections, and flare to realize improved contrast and clarity.
